Edmond Rostand, the author of Cyrano de Bergerac, is undoubtedly the most famous person to have lived in Cambo-les-Bains. He built the superb Villa Arnaga between 1903 and 1906, which presently houses the Edmond Rostand Museum and its original collection of objects and art works evoking the life and family of the famous writer. This exceptional home is renowned for the beauty of its gardens, one of Cambo’s treasures. The Jardins d’Arnaga, a listed Outstanding Garden, covers some 15ha and boasts a French-style garden complete with ponds, water mirrors and a pergola, in addition to an English-style garden with mineral lines against a green backdrop.
