CENITZ - GUETHARY

Cenitz beach

Are you looking for a day of peace and quiet far from others in a relaxing and unspoilt setting, and the freedom to while away the hours without a care in the world?  Cenitz is just the place you are looking for. The beach stretches over two communes.

To the south, you have Saint-Jean-de Luz with its sandy beach, whereas in Guéthary to the north, rocks make their appearance. The presence of the latter can sometimes make bathing a little more dangerous depending on the state of the ocean, so be careful. May we also remind you that there is no lifeguard supervision here whatever the season

To come here by car, take the Chemin de Cenitz at the end of which there is a free car park. Alternatively, take the Coastal trail (listed and protected site) and stop at this cove for a break before resuming your walk. There is no doubt that an invigorating refreshing dip will recharge your batteries, particularly if you love authenticity and tranquillity. When you get up from your towel don’t miss the show put on by surfers challenging the waves; unless you are riding one of the tubes yourself!

There is a restaurant overlooking the beach which boasts a three-sixty-degree view of the magnificent Atlantic Ocean, a pleasant setting for savouring some sea food or having a drink at night fall.

Breathe in the sea air and never forget this instant of sheer relaxation!

Far from the hustle and bustle of the town, this charming cove is the ideal place for spending a moment of peace and tranquillity in a green landscape with a view of the Spanish coast. Whether you prefer pebbles or sand you will have the choice. Let yourself be immersed in the crystal-clear water and relax!
